PTs are trained to evaluate the postural and balance systems, the dynamic behaviors of muscles and joints, and their impact on the body’s ability live its life with ease and functionality. We are concerned with your lifestyle and how it impacts your physical health.
I integrate my knowledge of the body to help you resolve pain, restore soft tissue mobility and joint range of motion, improve posture and balance, gain strength and endurance. I use therapeutic exercise and neuro-muscular re-education to increase awareness about embodied habits and avenues of correction toward new habits. I may recommend orthotics, taping, and supports to facilitate function. I will use modalities such as ultrasound or light therapy as indicated. Manual therapies are also part my physical therapy practice.
My practice of physical therapy is embedded in the skills of listening to you and your body. This is a process that unfolds over several visits as we engage in figuring out, in partnership, what will help you reach your goals.
