Embodied cognition uses information arising from the body to increase tolerance, understanding and comprehension for one’s self and the world in which one’s self is living. This is information that can arise from movement, from the senses, from the tissues of the body, from emotions, thoughts, and from pain. With respect to chronic pain, the question is not the fact that it is here, but why it doesn’t go away.
Embodied cognition can involve exploring the body’s experience of overwhelming threatening events, trauma, to reduce suffering and recover your innate health and well-being.
